Part 1: Virtual Mental Health Workshop

Part 1 of 3:
21 people from Portsmouth, London, Manchester, Cameroon, USA, The Republic of Guinea, and France attended the online workshop. The event was a tremendous success everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and had a great time.
Early indications suggest that the coronavirus (COVID-19) will have a significant impact upon the mental health of almost everyone. It is very possible that these mental health implications will be felt for many months and even years.
As an organisation we have adapted range of measures to support all members of our communities including those experiencing difficult times and poor mental health because of COVID-19. Our recovery measures range from supporting people to regain an effective life balance and addressing fears about return to normality, right through to referral to Mental Health specialists.
During the workshop Carolyn Barber (Mental Health Specialist) our guest speaker outlined ways in which we could all improve and maintain our health and well-being. Everyone found the session extremely useful; Advice and information was given on how to look after our mental health and wellbeing during these difficult times.
“I found COVID-19 so hard to deal with, working from home and having my 3 kids around have been exceedingly difficult and mentally draining. The workshop has been useful, what I have learned today will help me plan my life better without letting my surrounding mentally affect me” – Emily Smith
This workshop was the 1st out of 3 we have planned for post COVID-19 recovery, the next event is on the 27th June.
Thank you all for attending, we hope more people will join and benefit from the sessions.
