Famiy Fun Day (2017)

The URBOND Family fun day was a tremendous success and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. There was a fantastic effort made by all of the Urbond committee members and volunteers, and a big thank you to all of those who attended.
We were fortunate to be able to enjoy fantastic weather on the day and offer attendees a wide range of activities to partake in. This included; A performance by Dave Terrill, Origens do Brazil and Koshita Shengamo, face painting by David, a raffle by Ann Roberts and Debbie Muscat along with art and crafts by Dawn Foster.
The highlight of the day was the BBQ, everyone enjoyed the food and kept coming back for more.
Strengthening the bonds between local community members creates a feeling of shared security and with everyone being more emotionally connected this makes for fewer arguments and a better sense of togetherness.
The following was a comment from one of the attendees who was asked for their thoughts on the family fun day and URBOND in the community as a whole:
“What’s the point in having a child if he or she doesn’t give you an excuse to act like one? Days out present an opportunity for parents to unwind, forget about work and focus on their children. It’s the chance to use your time to catch up with their lives and make memories with your little ones. When they move away from home, you’ll be glad that you have lots of pictures of those days. URBOND is doing a great job in the community, we should all be grateful for the work these people are doing.”
We thank everyone for their commitment, dedication and giving their time to join us on the day, it would not have happened without the support of the local community.
