Community Volleyball Tournament 2019

Over 130 volleyball players and fans turned out to the 1st Community Volleyball Tournament held on Saturday, 30 March at the Spinnaker Sports Centre in Portsmouth.

10 teams, all from Hampshire participated at the tournament that help raised £380 which was donated to support the URBOND Child Education Programme. The programme aims to provide free primary education and opportunities to children in need.

Congratulations to the Winners URBOND 1  – Team Ifi, 2nd place went to Team Pompey and 3rd place to Gosport Jedi.

Well done to all the other participating teams: URBOND 2 – Team Luca, URBOND 3 – Team Sam, The Untouchables, Southampton All Stars, UPSU Korean Society, Ball Ticklers and The Dream Team.

Speaking after the tournament, one of the tournament organiser, Noah Bedford-Henry (UoP Volleyball President) said,

I’m glad everyone had fun and everything worked out as planned”.

Ousmane Drame, URBOND Founder and Chairman had this to say,

The event was a success in every angle, not only we were able to bring together members of the local community and the students to have a great time, but it was also great to see the students getting involved to support URBOND Child Education Programme.

Our next Community Volleyball Tournament will be an outdoor tournament in June 8th.
